Nowadays almost everyone in the world is using social media, to express their feelings and emotions, to connect to people, to watch videos and many more. Using social media is a great way to relax but it can also kill a lot of time. Media became powerful in terms of influencing, especially to the teenagers and kids. There are so many things shown in the media and one of them is "Sex and Violence".

That kind of theme is very common nowadays, and people are not that sensitive to contents like that. Why? Because it appears like it's just normal. Why again? Go back to first sentence of this paragraph. The question is, is it safe for the eyes and minds of the young one's? Obviously, no. But why again? What will be the effects of these themes to them? I can't see any positive outcomes. Let's talk about sex and violence in the media for a while.

"SEX"

What are things that our minds think when we hear this word? Why did we think of those words? Because of the influence of our surroundings. Because it's what a
our society taught us. Because of the influencial media. There goes the media, where the media plays an important role for our mindset about this word.
Sex in the media may be shown in different kinds like in the form of photos, video, songs and many more. Everyone can access media that shows sexual content. An example of that is this teenage girl. She was 13 years old and she likes to explore the internet, she watched porn and many more. This started when she saw nude pictures in his step dad's phone. She was curious so she searched for it, you see how she was influenced with just photos.

"Violence"

Numerous studies can't define violence in terms of media. But we just know that this may result to harm, trauma, nervous breakdown or even death. Violence is very common in the media especially on the video games played by the kids. Why? Because it's what the society currently are into. And as human subjectivity enters, we humans are social beings. And as social beings, we are sociable and we want to go with the flow.

What are the effects of these?

Children can be more attached to sex and violence
It's a negative one, because if children are attached to these, they'll be more likely to adapt these influences.

Children can manifest this at young age
They can act what they can see, because for them, they idolize the adults. And they want to do what adults also do.

Children can be more violent
They can apply this in real life. And it can affect their behaviours especially on social clusters like on their schools and group of friends.

But for the parents, can you prevent your children from seeing these influences?
Luckily, yes!

Look after the things your child views.
It's the first thing that you can do, if you have time. If you have the effort to do it, go for it. Because no one can guide your child noticeably but you.

Make sure to have a good relationship towards them
Why? Because if we have good relationship with them, they're most likely to said things about themselves and tell their ideas and what ideas run into their mind. They're more likely to open up with you and by that, you can guide them.

Make them watch educational videos
Because it might simply liberate them and it can also divert their attention.

Teach them to use media in most efficient way
Let them use media, in necessary purposes. Like for studying.


Limit their time in using the internet
Make house rules for them. Also let them realize that rules are rules and these rules are for their own good.



And to sum up all of these, we users must also know the do's and dont's when we are interacting with media. We must have the knowledge. We must be literated for us to have the perspicacity of exploring the vastness of this media we're taling about. We must not be easily be manipulated by the media. We must be wise social media users.
